Email setup and configuration  Print this Article

The Ionblade secure mail server url for both incoming and outgoing mail is host1.ionblade.com. We recommend using IMAP instead of POP simply because it allows your mail to be synced across multiple devices. When setting up your email hosted by Ionblade on a new device or mail application such as an Iphone or Outlook/Thunderbird for the first time is as simple as entering the username(your full email) and password. Once the server verifies the information is correct it will automatically configure your email settings using SSL over IMAP unless you manually configured the settings before connecting.

The Default SSL settings are:

Incoming Server: host1.ionblade.com
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: host1.ionblade.com
  • SMTP Port: 465

If you're not going to use SSL these are the settings:

Incoming Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  • IMAP Port: 143
  • POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  • SMTP Port: 25

*Note: Make sure you use your full email address as your username for both incoming and outgoing authentication.

If your ever experiencing a problem accessing your email you can always login to your webmail using your email and password here or by click the email icon on the top right of the www.ionblade.com homepage.

If you need to change your exsiting mail server address manually see the instructions below:

SMTP e-mail servers are host1.ionblade.com and Imap is also host1.ionblade.com.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.

The Account Settings command is missing

The Account Settings command is on the Tools menu in Office Outlook 2007. If you are using an earlier version of Outlook, the following instructions do not apply. Use the Help that is included with that product. If the title bar of the program that you are using displays Outlook Express, then you are using a program that is not the same as Outlook. See the Help in Outlook Express for assistance.

  2. On the E-mail tab, click the e-mail account that you want, and then click Change.

  3. Under Server Information, in the Account Type list box, chooseIMAP.

  4. Under Server Information, in the Incoming mail server box, type the complete name of the server provided by your ISP or mail administrator. (host1.ionblade.com.)

  5. Under Server Information, in the Outgoing mail server box, type the complete name of the server provided by your ISP or mail administrator. (host1.ionblade.com).
